Me and my friend are vacationing in florida in about one week… the rental car will be under his name since he's over 25, but I want to pay for the rental online. So my question is will they let us rent the car under his name but with my card?

That won't work, you must be present with a valid license and credit/debt card in your name. If he pays for the car with his own card assuming he has one with the required deposit you could pay him back in cash.
